Waste gate cycles anytime a door is opened
2018 Allroad - When the car is cold and unlocked, anytime any door is opened, the waste gate cycles every 15 seconds (for 4 cycles). It does not matter if the key in range or not. Even closing the a door starts the cycles again.
Besides driving me nuts, it seems this behavior will wear out the gate.
Thanks,
Scott

Any fixes of suggestions?
Has anyone seen (or can suggest) a fix for this problem? It is clearly not normal "wake up" behavior. Any tips on how to proceed with Audi? I had it in to the dealer and they were baffled.
Thanks,

Hi Noggybowl... Yes... The fuel pump primes when the driver side door is open. This occurs when any door is open and keeps going. Also, you can see the waste gate actuator moving every 15 seconds. It opened for about 1/2 second, closes and repeats 15 seconds later for 4 cycles.

Mine does it unfortunately, too.
It's not as annoying as the high pitch sound I get during colder weather (<50F) when braking and eventually coming to a stop.
According to Audi this is normal and there's nothing they can do about it.
I, however, think it's one of the most annoying noises possible especially since I never hear it in during the summer months.

Mine does the same thing also
Took a video and showed the audi tech over the weekend. He said it's normal to have the actuator cycle for a while after shutting the engine down. Assured me wasn't an indication of turbo failing..He had no answer for why this happens when tye doors are opened and the car has been sitting for a while. Anyone have anything more they can share on this? Those who had the same issue wondering if actuator or turbo failed completely and needed replacing? Any other symptoms or issues that came up as a result of that annoying noise?
