Default Driver Assistance Question

I am interested in purchasing a Q8, with the semi-autonomous driving features, but have had problems with other vehicle brands where the vehicle swerves off onto an exit lane or elsewhere and/or wanders back and forth within the lane. Has anyone experienced issues with Audi driver assistance features? If there there is any related Q8 experience that would also be very helpful.

Thanks,

I have found the same to be true in my 2017 and 2018 Q7's, I expect the same from my Q8 when i get it.
Just about as bad, is that when cruising down a freeway in the right lane, there are times the traffic sign recognition picks up the speed on the sign meant for those exiting.
The first couple times that happened to me I had no clue why my vehicle started to slow down quite quickly!
Now i am aware and usually can prevent the car from slowing down before i reset the speed.

Thanks! Have you ever had it swerve out of its lane without driver input? I test drove a Q7 and it appeared to have that problem.

With the Q8's new adaptive cruise assist, it keeps the lane much better than the previous lane keep assist system. In my short time driving it, I haven't had it swerve into an exit lane, but I haven't driven it enough to say it never would.

My most recent Qy7's did this too, My Q8 is expected in 3 weeks or so, I will let you know what i find. i know of a couple places that it happened without question, so i shoudl be able to determine pretty quickly if it is the same, better or....worse

Thanks. My Q8 is due shortly. I'll let you know how mine does as well. I hope it is fixed since I consider it to be a hazard.

The worst scenario I can think of, and this is a situation i encounter frequently, is when passing bicyclists on a thoroughfares. Sometimes you need to pull to the left a bit to pass safely, if you approach or cross the center line the thing will try to pull you back into the lane, towards the cyclist.

That is scary. The system is supposed to sense driver steering input and it is not supposed to counteract. Another hypothetical example is where the driver is trying to avoid an obstacle in the road such as a boulder. It would not be good if the steering assistance countered such an action.

You can easily over power the steering assist.
