Default do C7 A6 cars have the 'after run' heater feature

that the C6 A6s had where in the heater could be made to run for a period after the car was turned off ? If the C7s do have it, how is it engaged ?

Have you opened your owners manual and read it?

If it's a standard feature, I bet it's documented

If you are referring to the feature that allows the in-car HVAC to run after the car has shut off OR turn on x amount of minutes before you're about to leave for a trip - then it's a yes and no. Yes, it is possible to have it and no, it is not automatically available for USDM cars. You will need a VCDS cable to enable both the menu option in the MMI (via the Green Engineering Menu) and enable the "auxiliary heater" option via VAGCOM.

it is a standard feature on US cars. I use mine all the time. I did not need to use vagcom to activate it.

It is one of the secret options! If I remember correctly you need to hold the fan button down for 2 seconds.

thanks for that Kevin. Although I'm 99% certain I'll never use it, since I rarely if ever sit in the car after I've turned the car off and wait. I can see why others would use it, but it's nice to know these features exist even in cars that are almost 15 years old
