Has anyone tried to update VC, to any version?
For example last one 8S0 906 961 AL, FPKWW379B9, Version 0379

Is there any update that finally solves the "unknown song/artist/album" on the VC for whatever Carplay is playing?

It's so infuriating....

How do you update to the latest version? Do you have to go to the dealer?

I don’t think the dealer will update it for you unless your VC has issues. Same way the won’t update your MMI to the latest one unless it hangs or something.

Update is selling by dealer as a SD-card with software. If you have SD-card with software you can update by yourself.

You sure? Don't see self update options in the MMI menue. Only the Navigation Map software can be updated via SD card.

I think in the older Audi cars you updated maps and MMI by using an SD card which you could also find on eBay if you searched hard enough. I assume that’s what serges meant. But regarding the new platform. IDK. There’s definitely no way we can update MMI or VC ourselves.

MMI or VC can be updated with SD card through Red Menu, it is not a problem.
