Default 2007 Q7 SLINE (RHD) Air Suspension Issue

Hi,

I have spent the last day or so reading about Q7 air suspension problems on this forum.
So I while I await for my OBDeleven to arrive to get proper fault codes, please could someone see if I am going down the right road to fix my issue.

My Q7's yellow warning flashes after a couple of minutes of driving. So I did the following to try to find where the problem(s) is:

1a. I left it on "Lift" over night (with jack "ON") ... and in the morning I don't see any changes. Does this means that it is NOT leaking?
1b. I left it on "Lift" for a couple of hours (with jack "OFF") ... I don't see any changes after. Does this means that it is NOT leaking?
2. I tested ALL the different position settings, the car goes up & down as expected. Does this means that my Fuse & Relay are OK?
3. When I turn off the ignition, I can't hear the compressor running. Does this means that my relay is NOT stuck?
4. Just before the warning flashes, I can hear whirring sound to the right of me & then silent.

From these four steps, is it reasonable to think that the compressor is the problem? I'm contemplating buying the kits from Bagpipingandy to try it out.
I am thinking it could also be the valves ... :-) but from my readings these are quite reliable.

How many compressors are there in each car, 1 for the front & 1 for the rear?

Any suggestions would great ... thanks.

Really do need the codes.

I suspect you getting a compressor overheat message and that is causing the warning light.

If it stays level overnight when not in jacking mode, there is unlikely to be any leaks.

The reason the light comes on after driving a short while is probably when it tries to adjust the ride height to suit the speed you are travelling. It lowers at about three different speeds and this could be when the error occurs.

You could have a level sensor issue giving and implausible signal from at least one corner.

Before driving and without the warning light on, can you raise and lower the car rom the MMI and does the lower function in the load area work?

I just checked, the front raise & lower fine. But the rear, "load area"?, doesn't work ... arggghhh. Pressing the up/down on the side at the rear does nothing, the button just keep flashing the amber light. What's the diagnosis? Thanks.

The rear “suspension lower” button only works in 2 positions. All the doors need to be closed prior to lowering and the keys generally need to be removed from the ignition for it to work also. It the air system holds good air pressure in the rear air tank, it will raise when the button is pressed even 24hours later.

1. closed all doors & key out - It's NOT moving up or down.
2. closed all doors & key in - It's NOT moving up or down.

Any suggestions to try next?

Thanks.

Still not sure but I would guess at an issue with at least one level sensor.

Does your car have adaptive headlights?

No. it doesn't have that feature.

Are "level sensor" cheap to buy & 'easy' to replace?
Do you know the part number for them?

Thanks.
