I purchased a set of BlackLine tail lights, thinking I would be able to locate a local shop equipped with VCP. Well, I haven't yet been able to find one. Does anyone in Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec (say between Toronto and Quebec City) or Northern New England or Upstate New York know of a shop that does that they could point me to? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I did this retrofit, it's a bit involved as you must add wires to all the tailight harnesses and then run the wires to the left trunk control module. Then the car must be flashed with a series of files thru vcp with a computer. I purchased my vcp for the job.

Thanks. I've now been advised by another AW member that VCDS, which I already have, can now be used to make the necessary changes. Now I just have to wait for some warmer weather!

Thanks Martin, I've used them before with my B8 A5, great service! They were one of the first shops I called, but unfortunately, no VCP. It looks like I can now use VCDS.

That's surprising to hear I thought only VCP could program the needed Hex files into the light control module.

Perhaps you could share the information for others

Once I have the specifics, I certainly will. I updated the VCDS software yesterday, and when I plugged it into the car today, it made what appeared to be a rather substantial update to the interface itself.

Hi, all. Know this is a dormant thread, but hopeful for some follow-up on this comment. Were you able to flash the needed files with VCDS?
