D mode in RS5

I drive around town in D all the time. Have no issues with it. Engine torque is very strong down low and I find that, when in D, it drives very smooth and effortless in the city.

I test drove a 2019 a couple of weeks ago and I didn't have a problem with D mode. However, that may be because I expected it to be a fairly tame, eco mode that jumps to the highest gear as soon as possible. I am coming from a B8 with a ZF8 and the programming in D mode seems essentially the same.

Also 2019 S5 here with a few hundred city miles in D and no issues so far. Yes it requires more pedal travel than S and quickly goes to high gears but the behavior is predictable/repeatable and the car is very drivable.

Which has ALWAYS been my experience with my S5 Coupe (May 2018 build date). I never had a problem with the overhead view either — I’m left to wonder if Audi:
a) knew about both problems and
b) implemented the F/W changes into the late 2018 production units for these “issues” just prior to the M/Y 2019 production units?
I’ve never felt the “lag” in “D” and always had the overhead view in reverse.
Just a 7 month observation — Sorry to clutter up this RS5 thread.

The problem was that when you're in D mode and you're crusing along, or stopped at a light, if you jab the throttle to get a suddent quick acceleration the gear kickdown takes forever, like the transmission isn't doing anything for a good 1-2 seconds. In S mode it seemed always ready. So you're not seeing that at all?
