2015 3.0 Certification Question
I am looking at a 2015 A8 not "L" with 43k miles Premium, Sport Wheel Pkg and Driver Assist Package's MSRP $85,750 traded in and serviced regularly at a Florida Audi Dealer. 29K$ But been on the lot for a while. Is the short wheel base less desirable so it has sat a while service and car fax are excellent.
Can it be CPO'd(12 months unlimited as 4/50 warrantee has expired and what do dealers pay to CPO an A8?) I have a 014 Touareg TDI my VW Audi service guy says he sees few problems at all with the A8's prolly drive it 15k a year.
I need to understand service intervals as I see plugs every 35 k what else is a little on the expensive side for regular service? I drove a 08 A8 and loved it like 5 years ago drive an old LS430 now. Seems like a great used car value at 29k?. Is there a heated wheel standard or do I need a weather package not ordered much in Fla. Thanks great site any links to commonly asked questions?

Not sure they would CPO that car. For starters it doesn't have the OEM tires that they may need to change out. Not sure what else they would have to do.
That said, I have the same car essentially with 34k and it's been trouble free. I just did an APR Stage 1 tune which adds a lot to that 3.0 for only $1000. That V6 is bulletproof from what I've read and from speaking with Audi service techs.
Depressing that you can buy that car for only $29k. I paid $71 in 2015 when my car had 2400 miles as a retired loaner. And I thought I was getting a great deal then with an MSRP of $86k. Sheesh! Good luck.

Thats a nice car. It appears to be in very good cosmetic condition.
From the dealer's point of view this car has three strikes against it. First, it has a 3.0L engine which is the less desired engine. Second, it is a NWB version, which is also less desirable to the normal A8 buyer. Third, the 3.0L version depreciates faster than the 4.0L version. If you want this car, you should be able to get a good deal on it.
I would not bother with the certification - it is not worth the paper it is printed on. Based on my experience with a Magna dealer in Chicago, the certification process is worthless. There are multiple reports of dealers checking the boxes without doing any of the inspections or fixes. Audi will not help even if you prove that the car was not restored to their standards. A proper third party inspection is your only assurance of quality. If you insist on a warranty, just buy it from a third party.

Spock Thanks for the reply. The same service rep, Bergstrom up north of you, told me if there was damage, besides like a bumper cover, it would have to go to Chicago to be repaired?

I like CPO cars. They offer good value and I have typically recovered the extra cost ( about $2000-$3000) as we drive cars a long time. . Audi dealers don’t CPO cars purchased from a non Audi dealer however. The CPO process must be done by the dealer before or at the time of the sale. Third party warranties are different. They can be purchased through the dealer but are not backed by Audi.

I don’t think so. I found my S5 at an independent euro dealer. I ask d my sales rep at Audi if they could CPO it. He told me that THEY would have to buy I and CPO it then sell it to me. I assume what he told me was correct.
note: I just discovered this. A recent change reduces CPO coverage to just one additional year after new vehicle warranty ends.
