Bumper damage - fix or find my inner zen?
Looks like some jerk tagged my rear bumper in the parking lot and drove off. Hard to tell in the picture, but it deformed the bumper cover, the area in the circle is sort of a bubble and the arrow is to a small crease. Some minor scuffing in the area as well.
Car is ~20 months old, 15k. As an almost 2 year old DD, I realize stuff is going to happen - but outside of a previous door ding that PDR essentially fixed 100%, it's pretty pristine. Since the bumper cover is obviously stretched, not sure if there really is any way to fix it "right" other than a complete replacement. And, of course, always the risk that it can come out looking worse than going in... not really familiar w/ great body shops in my area.. Also have ceramic coating, so that would need redone as well - presumably could just be the one panel though.
I have comp, of course, but not sure if it's worth going through insurance as I understand it can still effect rates.
Thoughts?

If it's a lease, no, since I don't think they would charge you for it based on the picture. Hard to tell. Otherwise, yes.

Not an expert, but a shop may able to pop the plastic out and repaint it. The bumper will likely have to come off for the work. Where I am it is likely a $1500 job. Take it to a few of the smaller garages get a few quotes before resigning to your inner zen.

I'm quite neurotic about this sort of thing, but it doesn't really bother me in the photo because it's right next to the lower valence and exhaust (rather than in the middle of a flat door panel). I would probably leave it.

Plastic bumper hard to fix... some *** ran into my bumper and left these 3 little pinhole dents that are hard to see... I dont know of any way to "fix" it other than filler and a full respray or a new bumper.

Post a pic of the whole back of the car, it's hard to say. At least it's not a scratch. The first one is always the worst...

With the picture shown, take the $1500-$2500 that is might cost to fix and place it in an account so you can pay for that little upgrade on the next car. Maybe custom paint color?
