Pretty much see topic.

One doesn't see many on the road because apparently it's not a good seller I assume.
I see tons of Porsche Panamara's but no RS/S/A7s.

What gives?

I'm a big fan of the liftback design (see sig), but I think a lot of folks consider these to be overpriced versions of their *6 counterparts. You could say the same thing about *4/*5, but the overall prices and price differential are lower and more within the budget if the average buyer.

We love our A7 and it’s sleeker design. The 6 is pretty nice but kinda plainer sedan looking to me.

the price on. The 7s are more than the 6s which is likely a big driver. The RS7 new is north of 100k which makes them even rarer

How many R8's do you see around? I'm guessing not that many. It's because they are...shhhhh.....expensive.

I see S7's all over the place in the Washington DC area. They're still expensive, but nowhere near what you'd pay for an RS7.

Newsflash: I also don't see many McLaren/Lambo/Ferarri or (gasp) Audi R8's on the road.

I see quite a few A7/S7/RS7 in Southeast Michigan and lots of them in Chicago. It depends on what area you live in and how much wealth. Its not a cheap car ha and its nice that its rare. I love my A7.

I'm not buying that cost is the main issue.

Again, where I am, I see 10 Panamera's for every 1 Audi *7. People have no problem buying Porsche's for the same or more cost.

R8, Lambo, etc are in a different category IMO.

I'm not sure what you're expecting for an answer here. Perhaps in your area people prefer Porsche styling, brand, etc. And you're not really presenting any data. Perhaps your state makes aggregate data available on makes/models/years of registered vehicles. That would be a more useful source of intel on what's popular and what isn't.

Edit: The data clearly exists, but I'm too lazy to go look for it. It's being used to drive articles like this one:

Best,

p.s. An R8 and RS7 are pretty close in price once you add a couple of options to the RS7.

OK, I couldn't help myself. Here is actual US sales data which clearly refutes any significant delta in sales other than 2018 (which is probably due to incomplete data for Audi sales for that time period).

Audi A7 / S7 US car sales figures
Porsche Panamera US car sales figures

For most model years, the A7 variants appear to have outsold the Panamera.

I agree. A lot of Audi A7's here around Baltimore. When we were in St Pete's we saw a lot of Mercedes compared to BMW's and Audi's. Certain areas prefer certain cars over others.

There is actually a phenomenon about it called Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. Basically we get programmed to notice something more often. As the data posted in a previous thread showed that there were only 5,500 more Panamara's sold over the A7/S7 in the last 8 years, we tend to notice something more once fixated on it.
