Default EPC Light

My friend has a 2013 RS5 and the EPC light comes on along with the check engine and the mention not to go over 6,000 rpm. It comes on after he warms up the car, and without driving it hard. We took it to Audi dealer and two different indy mechanics, for a total of 8 times, and no one can find out what it is. Can anyone post all of the conditions which cause the EPC light to come on? If I can get this list, we can then verify and eliminate all of those conditions one by one until we find the problem. Also, if you had EPC light and resolved it, can you pls post what the solution was. I've already read all of the posts containing EPC on this forum (and many others), but any new info would help. Thank you.

We had a C6 A6 that did very similar at about 75000 miles. Dealer replaced the ECU.

I have a 2012 A7 that has had this issue 6+ times since August 2018. Local dealer has tried multiple times to correct the issue - In-Warranty:

ECU replaced
Cam Sensor and Intake Flap noted - ECM Updated
Found Intake Runner not opening/closing
Excessive Resistance in G28 Wiring Harness
ECM Power Supply Relay, Engine Component Power Supply Relay, Crankshaft Speed Sensor Faulty
Fuel Pressure Sensors Faulty Shorting Engine Component Supply

The issue continues to happen - now out of warranty. I am hesitant to start paying for this myself as it seems the previous "corrections" never fixed the underlying issue. Has anyone had this happen this many times and what was the outcome? Any suggestion on an approach to take with the dealer?

My friend now took his car to an independent Audi specialist; he's been told that the cam sensors are 'bent' and physically damaged (remember the car went to 3 different garages for a total of 8 times prior, for the same problem). I'm not sure this was the problem, but he's going to replace them and we'll see.

Regarding your car going out of warranty, I am afraid you're going to have to get a lawyer and force them to accept this is the same problem that they never fixed when the car was under gtee, and get them to fix it. The difficulty resides in the fact that they don't know how to fix it...Let us know what happens.
