Default RS5 coupe, new or used?

hi everybody, I am a long time Audi owner, and now looking for the RS5 Coupe. I am really undecided between these 2 choices:
1. brand new 2019 model MSRP of 81k with all the options I want, selling for 77k after dealer discount.
2. certified 2018 model with 8,000 miles selling for 66K, original MSRP 84k.

any thoughts/comments to help me decide would be appreciated.
Chris.

There weren't really any major changes between the 2018 and 2019 RS5 Coupe. The main thing that comes to mind would be including TPMS as a standard feature in 2019 and as an option in 2018.

2018 is a good deal. 8k miles is nothing and you're saving $11k. As long as it has all you want in it, I think it's a no brainer.

Is the 2018 Audi Dealer certified?? Ask for an extended warranty 5-7 years, and consider an independent pre purchase inspection.

100% agree. You are betting that the first owner didn’t wail on the car, track the car or generally beat on it.

Quite honestly — any used performance car like the RS5 would scare me unless I knew the previous owner but, YMMV.

I bought my A5 coupe used with 500 miles on it. MSRP $54k. I paid $42k. Not a single problem after a year (18k miles) and I'm still thrilled with the purchase.

Big diff between buying a CPO'd A5 which are rarely if ever tracked or pushed extremely hard, and an RS5 which, as a previous poster mentioned, could have easily been tracked a ton, or just pushed daily (I have a cousin with a Nissan GT-R (Godzilla) that makes it his mission to get over 110 mph on his daily commute of approx 20 miles). An independent mechanical inspection on the RS5 would be a must. no surprise that you've had a good experience with the A5. We did the same thing with my wife & a 2017 A4 (had 10,000 miles) and was bought at approx 80% of MSRP.

If an inspection of the 2018 RS5 with 8000 miles comes back clean, that's a helluva deal (78% of MSRP). Especially if Audi/Dealer CPO with the extended warranty.

I wouldn't be scared of an rs5 under 10k as long as it is certified.

Nobody is tracking the rs5, at least not in a way that would hurt the car. Just make sure you know the status of the wear items.
