Just wanted to say goodbye and thanks for all of the information and learning here over the past 6 years. I turned my A8 in last night and picked up my new vehicle - a 2019.5 Range Rover Sport Autobiography. The A8 was a good car for me and I was considering either a new A7 or a new Q8 as replacements, but the A7 was ultimately too close to the NWB A8 I had and the Q8 didn't wow me with a turbo'd V6 for $90k. I'm under no illusions regarding quality or potential issues with the RRS. In fact, the car had a relatively minor issue at delivery that they are rectifying. But with the winds changing at Audi in the wake of the diesel-gate fiasco, and that starting to show up in the cars, it was time to move on. Thanks especially to MP4.2+6.0 and DerfA8L for all of their knoweldge. Best of luck to everyone with their cars. i sense the same thing. I’ve owned various Audis for nearly 30 years, and I recall posting when I placed my order for my D4 rather than wait for the D5 rollout, that I thought the D4 may be the high water mark. I stand by that.
Good luck and enjoy the next ride. I’m in a similar boat, I think after driving the D3 and now D4 it is time for a change. I have not driven the D5 A8 yet but I’m not that impressed when I sit inside the new one. I am just not impressed with the new Audi interiors. I actually really like the new X5 and X7 interior. Getting one of those with the twin turbo V8 is definitely on my short list.
