Every once in a while, my tailgate beeps are opening fully. This doesn't happen all the time. At first I was thinking it was warning about coming close to my garage door, but it has also happened a couple times outside. Anyone know why this is happening?

I can't remember for sure, but perhaps it beeps when you open it via the foot under the bumper and/or the key fob, but not when you open it by activating the hand lever on the tailgate itself. Is that possible? Do you use various different methods for opening the tailgate? If so, perhaps take note and see if it varies by method.

Mystery solved. When the lid can't open to its full height (or whatever height it is set to), it stops on its own and beeps. When my car is in just the right spot in the garage, the lid hits one of the ribs on the garage door and beeps. I guess the time it happened outdoors there must have been an overhanging branch or something.
