So we bought my wife’s 2014 A6 Prestige in April 2016. Bought it CPO from audi of Henderson, NV. The CPO warranty runs 6 yr/100k from the date it was originally purchased (9/2013), so it expires in 4 mos. I called Audi of Nashville about extending the CPO warranty. They said I should have been offered it when we bought it — we weren’t. They quoted me to extend the CPO warranty 4 yr/48k miles a little more than $6k. Car currently has 67k miles.

Question is does this sound high? Anyone have any luck with aftermarket warranties? That’s $1500 a year. Just trying to hear ideas. I dont really want to keep it out of warranty.

6K seems crazy high

In lieu of 6K which I wouldn't consider and I am not sure if that is possible other than a 3rd party. Take that 6K and sell your car then negotiate and flip it for a 2016-2018 CPO with Audicare that is covered for another 3-4 years under factory and CPO warranty. Or consider leasing a demo Audi.

Unfortunately the values have crashed with the model change and recall issues on the C7 platform Audis.

Also, Audi cheapened and shortened the CPO coverage down to 5 yrs/unlimited from 6 yrs/100K when we both bought our 2014 A6 CPOs

Sell yourself of course (not a trade in with Audi). Or look at a lease with loyalty although Audi's lease notoriously awful with lower residuals and MF compared to BMW Financial

We still owe $$ on hers, and the resale value on these vehicles is not good. Same with my BMW 550i. I bought it used 5 mos. ago with 79k miles for $16,500. I now have 83k on it and trade in value is only $9k. Resale value on the private market will be lucky to get $13k.

After being in the market for a ewer CPO vehicle - I discovered that the Certified program is now extending for 12 additional months instead of the old 24. I guess Audi changed it's CPO Program benefits. Can someone Verify? Is this for all Audi CPOs (C8-C7-C7.5)?

Yes indeed the CPO program changed. If I recall correctly one of the posts above describes it -- 5 years/unlimited miles. I'll bet that the actuaries employed by Audi didn't have much trouble showing that the 6th year had lots of claims and was very expensive for Audi, thus the change to the program. I also inquired about extended warranty on my /15 A63.0T. Insanely expensive. My warranty (bought my car new) is up middle of July and I have only 35,000 miles. Going to roll the dice and keep it another 1.5-2 years up to no more than 55K miles and then bid her adieu. Hoping for a peaceful, trouble-free experience during that period. If not, I'll just use the $$ that would have spent on extended warranty for repairs.
