Default Nav update A6 2016 4G

Hello! Does anyone know how much it would cost to update de navigation on an A6 4G 2016 with a standard nav (no internet) with an SD card. The dealer said about 440 EUR wich includes an update to the MMI. This is the official dealer.

Is this correct? BMW updates for free. Volvo updates for free. What is happening with Audi??

Thank you for your answers!

I asked the dealer about this a few months ago. They said it would be a few hundred dollars, and not worth it because there hasn't been many changes. Since I use my iphone 99% of the time (because its easier to use, and has better nav features), I decided to skip it.

My 2016 A6 had a NAV update over the wireless network. I usually use a card but while driving, it popped up saying update was available and so I did it.

Nav updates can be pretty expensive at the dealer and now that someone figured out how to activate CarPlay in the 2016 it was much cheaper to do that and the nav is much more accurate without having to worry about updates.

based on what you are you are saying, you only have the basic navigation system (SD Card based maps), in which case Audi has never offered free updates to these maps and the only way to get them is to pay the dealer.. If you have the connected version, with maps stored on a hard disk, then you get 5 updates over the first 3 years of ownership. BMW is the same only offering 3 years of updates fo the connected version. VW gives lifetime updates to all versions, maybe someone at Audi should talk to somewon at VW!

I checked with my Audi dealer and got a quote for about $650 which includes both Maps and MMI. However, there are some retailers where you can purchase the software for about $200 and do it yourself. It is a fairly easy process but takes about 4-5 hours for all the updates.

The OP looks to be based in Europe and from his description he has the SD card based Sat Nav (aka RMC). As far as I am aware no one has managed to do an update of this system without involving the dealer as it requires a factory activation code to accept the new maps SD card. Likewise the RMC system does not use Audi Connect and therefore cannot receive an OTA update of the maps.
