I have an Australian spec car which does not have roof rails fitted as standard. When I ordered the car, I didn’t think to check whether rails were fitted as standard as my previous SQ5 had them as standard - as do Australian spec Q7’s. It seems they’ve removed them from standard spec in the Q8 range.

I am loving the car, but struggling to find an aftermarket solution for roof racks. Apparently Audi do sell rails as a part which can be ordered, but my dealer will not fit them for me as aftermarket part - presumably they don’t want to take the risk of drilling the roof?

Any thoughts on any third party options for roof racks? It would only be for occasional use and not for carrying anything too heavy - most likely a couple of bikes.
