Since receiving this car in late fall of 2017, I had the software bug where setting the car radio to presets would not stick after turning off the ignition. Also, if on XM radio when the car started, the virtual cockpit display would not transition to the 'now playing' screen unless the screen was scrolled or adjusted. Nuisances, but not awful.

Recently I learned on this forum about fixes for these issues. Diving into this, I managed to find/collate a few TSBs that were floating out there. In case anyone wants to look them over and reference them at their next Audi service visit.

(The main one that's received a lot of attention for many Prestige drivers here was not having the top camera view stick. The solution to that is to upgrade to 1316 firmware. There's a huge thread about that here https://www.audiworld.com/forums/aud...fault-2930552/ )

TSB 2011732 - how to flash firmware
TSB 2052896 - loss of radio preset status when starting car
TSB 2053028 - top down camera issue
TSB 2053258 - drive select button marked as * on the steering wheel forgetting function

In my particular case, referencing TSB 2052896/2, they updated the software for the responsible module ONLY. They did not update my firmware to 1316, so I am stuck on 1118 for now. Since I don't have the camera on my A5 Premium Plus, or any other noticeable bugs, I guess I'm stuck on it.

First, condolences. Secondly, no worries! Your posting on that thread spurred me to action.

Since I don't have an XM subscription currently, I can't completely confirm the update they performed fixed it. But since the XM trial has 1 station, I started the car on that one station and it does move to the 'now playing' after a few seconds.

As to what they did, specifically they updated the software on the 5F control module. ODBEleven tells me that's the "information control unit." I know that module controls some of the GPS Nav software fxns as well as XM radio (that's where it throws a fault to tell me I don't have an XM subscription). I didn't find a TSB specifically for this issue earlier. I just now looked through this site at different TSBs https://www.carcomplaints.com/Audi/A5/2018/tsbs/ and https://www.carcomplaints.com/Audi/S5/2018/tsbs/ and didn't find one specific either.

I've had 1316 applied but I still have the issue with the "Now Playing" not working unless I scroll, only after the engine has been off for a while. So it looks like after they applied 2052896 it also fixed that issue? Even though you only have 1 XM station... Maybe I should ask for that update specifically...

Yes, I'd probably ask for 2052896, though they may balk if you don't have the preset issue anymore. It looks like there are 2 versions of it apparently. v1 is the one with the PDF attachment. I'm not sure what v2 changes as I never got to see it.
