At one point, there were dozens of D2s for sale. There were a few with "engine problems" which often meant broken T-belt. Looking at Auto Trader, Cars.com many others, I can't find a single US based D2 for sale. Nothing on AW Marketplace either, not even any year A8.
My wife's 1998 with 170,000 miles runs good but it's due for a T-belt in 5,000 miles or so; the fuel pump is on borrowed time and after several attempts to recharge the AC which only last a week, I fear it will need something costly. Kelly says the car is only worth $500 and not sure it's worth putting major bucks into it.
However, my wife really likes it. The tranny was rebuilt at about 130,000 mile and it still looks relatively good.
I had hoped there might be a nice D2 out there for sale that didn't need so much stuff.
Anyone know of a nice one for sale in the Midwest?
Total of five D2s shows up in autotempest search. One is sold. leaving 4. I did find a 1998 is less than 500 miles from me and I'm waiting on a response.
I'm considering selling mine...it's an '03 with 133k miles...aluminum brake block, new rear rotors and new EBC Yellow-Stuff pads all around (brakes stuff needs to be done still but have in boxes ready for install) new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, serp belts, torque-mount, oil cooler pipe, intake actuator-arms, radiator, front suspension, all fluids swapped, transmission valve-body upgrade. etc...The car has been very well maintained and drives amazing and is incredibly fun to drive. Also has two sets of wheels and tires...factory 18s with off-brand z-rated tires and some B6 s-4 Avus wheels with Conti DWS tires. Clean, no rust (ha), Ox-Blood interior, Avus Silver exterior color...no accidents, no CELs, couple blemishes on exterior rear bumper paint but nothing crazy...I have over $15k into it over the last year and the only thing left to do is a 6spd manual swap. I need a larger vehicle due to a growing family; one with more ground clearance due to where I live in the mountains...I'd sell it for $12k...

Have stock suspension and wheels with new tires to go along with it. Recent timing belt service completed, refreshed front suspension, new rotors and pads.
