Default 2017 Q7 alignment--anything special that requires dealer?

I have a 2017 Q7 with 22K miles and I have some uneven outside front tire edge wear. I thought I would have it aligned. My choice is a reliable tire place where I plan to replace the tires in the near future, various and sundry alignment shops in our town of 45K people, and a German auto shop of good repute that says no problem: $175 front only, $250 front and rear. Is there anything special that requires the attention of shops familiar with the Quattro or is an alignment shop for all makes just fine? (The German auto shop says that they can usually get along with just the front and that there is not much that is adjustable.

Thanks
Ken K

There was a thread a while back that basically said that a dealer claimed that wheel alignment also required driver's assistance cameras to be realigned. The forum consensus was that this was probably BS but figured I would mention it.

Thank you. Realign the driver assistance cameras as part of a wheel alignment? Sounds like someone was trying to make a bit of money off of a customer...

As long as you don’t have adaptive chassis then there’s nothing special

So what happens if you DO have the adaptive chassis? Does that mean that we will have to go to Audi to get alignments?

I have adaptive chassis and my local tire shop did an alignment without any problems.

My local tire shop wouldn’t touch it because of it, neither would a trusty mechanic that I send work trucks to. With 4 wheel steering, there’s a bit more that goes into the alignment, I'd feel better just letting Audi do it.

Depending on what’s done during an alignment you can change the thrust angle of the car and that requires camera realignment. I’m sure the changes aren’t drastic and readily noticeable if you don’t realign but perhaps the system is no longer operating at peak efficiency?
