Default I had a similar situation about 5 years ago and while

I lost the arguement about the ticket the judge like my "ernest" defense and cut the fine from $300 to $150 or something like that. But I thought that in Ca if you get caught in excess of 100 MPH you automatically lose your license for awhile

Default Re: CHP Ticket Question

I got one of these like 4 years ago dueing 108 mph on I-5 coming from S. Fran back to O.C.
It was in Coelinga by Fresno. The cop said he was going to take me to jail but said since I had my wife in the car he didnt.

I got a lawyer cause I didnt want to drive up there and ended up paying $1000.00 fine. Paid the lawyer $125.

Damn ticket is still on my driving record. BUT HEY ALLSTATE NEVER GAVE ME AN UPRATE.. GREATTT.

IF your gona speed keep it under 100.

Default ya - that's in the middle of nowhere!

and yes - if you're going 20mph+ over the posted limit, you can't go to traffic school - IIRC.

Wasn't trying to be patronizing. I honestly thought you'd agree. Good luck fighting it...

Default i think they all totally depend on the cop/judge

i have a friend that has more points then he should and they havent taken his

they only want your money... if you can talk to them well you can get them to look past the points

Default NM is part of DLC as well as CA. It will transfer. Meaning 8 points in NM. over 26 mph assuming 65

mph limit. get yourself a lawyer, pay the fine but tell them not to put it into your record or plead for less. Getting a lawyer who knows what he is doing is better than going it alone in this situation. Most lawyers will try to talk to someone inside and settle it before going to court.
