Default Mod friendly dealers?

I'm considering a tune and read that some dealers will flag the car while some won't.

If you guys know any friendly dealers please PM me. Thanks!

A bit of history here. About 3 years or so ago, Audi got serious about ECU mods. They cracked down by using imbedded software to determine if the ECU was modified. This is when the TD1 flag became the bane of modders. Mod friendly Audi dealers became more scarce with limitations on what they could support and still avoid a TD1.

If the ECU is changed or modified, even if removed prior to service, it will automatically report any changes in performance parameters to Audi when the car is connected to the computer in the service bay. This will usually generate a permanent TD1 flag to the car's VIN even if the ECU is returned to stock.

There are several power mod devices outside of the ECU that others have reported no TD1 was generated if removed prior to taking the car into service. These could include intake, exhaust, intercoolers and others. Modding suspension should also not gerate a TD1.
