Default driving through the area, any roads to check out on the way?

I'm making a business trip down to florida in a few weeks( Viera area, with a possible stop near both tampa and sarasota), driving my A6 down from Louisville, KY, I won't have tons of time, but does anyone have any reccomendations on roads to take on my way up or down for some fun driving? (I've had my car 2 months, h-sports go on this weekend, and I'm itching to play with my new toy)

Default Not much if coming down through Nashville to I-75

Now if you go through Lexington and Knoxville, you can pick up 129 and run the Tail of the Dragon at Deal's Gap, continue down 129 past Blairsville. Take 180 west to Suches, then 60 south which takes you into Dahlonega. There you can pick up GA400 back to the interstates. It's gonna add a bunch of time to your drive, but you will hit some of the best roads through North Georgia.

Default Depends on the route but as Rob stated, coming Knoxville and subsequently Hwy 129 would be best...

In fact, I would go through Knoxville to pick up the lesser know Foothills Pkwy which ends at Hwy 129 right at the entrance to the Dragon. If you have the chance this is the route to take and one you will not forget.

If coming through Nashville there are also some decent routes south on I24 when. getting near the mountains.

Just let us know the intended route and we can let you in on the detours.

Default I kinda figured that

I haven't driven the nashville route before, but I normally am heading either east to WV or twards NC, so I know about some of the fun stuff over there (it's the main reason I wanted an audi), I wasn't sure what may be on the nashville route. I was hoping to save the dragon for a chance to go down with a coworker and play on it in his r32, but what the heck. luckily for me I'll most likely be leaving early (I'm going to have most of labor day weekend to get down there, after planning things out a bit more)

thanks for the tips, and if anyone else knows of anything else, let me know (especially farther south as I won't be that far south again for awhile)

Default I would seriously consider the following...

Take 441 south from Knoxville to 321
take the Foothills Pkwy to 129 and then south into the dragon.

That will be a route you will enjoy and talk about soon after and not forget.

However, I would run down 19 to Spur 60 to 515 which turns in I575 and puts you back onto I75 south many miles later. That is if speed is somewhat of a concern. If not, going through the rest of N GA to GA 400 would be fun.

Default Southern GA roads

Went down to Savannah a few weeks ago... I told my GPS to take the shortest (not quickest) route. This in turn took me on a bunch of country roads/highways. No twisties, but alot of straights... not just any straights, straights where you can see 3 miles ahead of yourself. Being that it was a Sunday during which I was driving I came upon one of these straights with no one for miles... I floored it, and managed to reach ~130 before I needed to slow down. Fun!

Take Highway 111 from Cookeville down to Chattanooga. Nothing but windy, mountainous roads

Default not to mention

The speed limit is 55 (or it was last time I drove on it).
