Service life of oem sport suspension?
2002 1.8tq w/ oem sport suspension. 64,000 miles on the odo.
Starting to look at areas needing attention, and the car does feel a bit sloppy, but yet again could just be my imagination. I dont want to get anything harsher than oem sport, and I'm not looking to lower the car. Am I still good for awhile or replace @ 70K miles service interval? |
Maybe 50k
The OEM shocks are the weak point in the suspension.
I usually prefer to swap them out around the 50k mark as by then you'll usually notice the suspension going to hell. Replacing shocks alone would be a great idea, you won't change the ride height, and you'll firm the suspension back to where it should be. KONI has a new FSD shock specially designed to work with factory springs, and would be a huge improvement over stock. For something a bit more sporty, you could opt for the KONI Sport Adjustables. They'll give you great handling and a bit more firm ride over the FSD. Email if you have any questions.

A4 shocks

|
