1996 1.9 TDi (90 bhp) running cool
Hello everybody,
I recently inherited an A6 with almost 200k miles. Car runs fine (perhaps a bit rough, but I don't know what I can expect from old diesel engines), almost everything works, this will become my daily driver for a while.
Some questions: please point me to a thread or faq (this must have been asked before) how to do some performance upgrade (even it it requires an engine change).
Car sits rather high, but I've got bad experience with lowered cars (worn CV joints). Is this car sensitive for this? Suggestions as for springs/shocks?
And a final question for now: engine temp is low, really low, like 70°C in slow traffic. rarely gets to the 80°C mark. Sensor is fine (double checked it with a temperature probe on the engine/rad hoses). Is this normal, or should I change the thermostat?
thanks for the advice...
