Does that mean one will loose the text display on and control from the MMI head unit to get A2DP streaming from and control on the iPhone. What's the advantage of having the AMI with a A2DP adapter compared to a simple AUX IN to A2DP adapter that will certainly be way cheaper?

For me anything cordless is better, I just hate to connect my phone and forget it all the time in the car. But I agree also with you loosing the text is a step back.
