Default Audi Connect with alternate SIM card

I'm slightly confused about how Audi Connect works with a personal SIM card. I had a trial Audi Connect account thru AT&T for 6 months when I started my lease. Once the lease was up, I added an extra device to my personal T-Mobile account and popped the SIM into the slot. The screen reads full LTE and I get Google Maps and Wifi Hotspot working fine. However, Audi Connect services (weather, gas, location sharing, etc.) are extremely intermittent and lean towards not working at all. From time to time, I will get a good connection which might last for a day and then fails again most of the time. What do I have to do to use Audi Connect with a personal SIM (prepaid, etc.) which was not directly purchased through Audi and AT&T?

Hey, if you go to Audi Connect do you still have the service enabled. If you go to Audi Connect there is a Service Subrscription section is that still enabled? If not you have to go to the site and renew the subrscriptions.

Alternate SIM cards has been working fairly well mostly for the older MMI generation, but Audi has been getting progressively more restrictive to the point where the latest gen cars have a built-in eSIM. T-Mobile is not a supported carrier anymore for MY2016+, so there could be network and provision issues. You may have better luck with an alternate AT&T SIM.

I recently noticed that Audi connect now has their own access point. The APN is something.audiusa.com now, where previously the APN was the carrier's APN. So, they are definitely doing something to discourage people from using unsanctioned data plans and carriers.
