B8 Bluetooth compatibility?

My wife has a 2011 2.0T with Bluetooth. She must use the Bluetooth frequently, and she has to replace her cell phone. The last time she attempted to do this with her previous 2008 she wound up with a phone that was listed by Audi, but with software that was not up to date and would not work. Her research to date shows that all the listed compatible phones for her present car are obsolete (From Verizon.) except one that requires an optional data plan that she does not want. This suggests to me that the Audi tech info on their site may be outdated. (Which from past experience isn’t that unusual.)

If anyone knows of an accurate list of current Bluetooth compatible phones for her model and could point me to it, I would be very grateful.

Thanks!

Those compatibility lists are pretty much useless. Bluetooth is Bluetooth, so if you make your devices correctly to the standard they will work.

Now that said there are a number of different profiles within Bluetooth but the only things Audi really supports are handsfree and phonebook transfer. There's not even A2DP (stereo streaming) in MMI at this point so it's hardly that advanced a Bluetooth device. Check out what Sync can do for a full-featured media device.... If I could have Sync in my '11 A5 it would be PERFECT!!! But I'll live without it cause for what really matters the A5 has it all over.

Now that I'm done rambling.... get whatever phone she wants, the handsfree will work.
