Default C-navi vs. D-navi

I have an 2000 A6 2.7T which came with a factory installed C-Navi system which died a few weeks ago. It still boots and allows me to enter a destination but always displays 0 of 8 satellites and never updates lat/long; it had been failing in this way occasionally for a few years, usually when it was 100+ degrees outside, but now it has failed completely (and it's nowhere near 100).

If I buy a D-navi cpu will it work in my car? Does anyone who has upgraded to NavPlus have a C-navi or D-navi unit they'd like to sell me?

Default In most cases it's just the GPS antenna on the roof

I have seen many postings where those just die after a couple years because of water getting into the antenna. I would try a $20 3rd party antenna first before replacing the navigation unit.

Default agreed...you can plug another gps antenna into the nav drive in the trunk..and test..

you'll need an antenna that has a smb connector on it.
