"Google Earth" out, "Satellite" in - software version 1329 and blurry images

Having received version 1329 here in Australia (A4 B9), to fix top view camera not defaulting, unfortunately I have found a problem with the new Satellite view.

Quick overview:
  • The word "Satellite" now replaces "Google Earth" in MMI view options
  • "Google Earth" remains in the VC options (bad oversight by AUDI, especially for anyone with OCD or looking for attention to detail)
  • A copyright notice in small print is now visible at the top of both MMI and VC screens
  • My understanding is this now uses Google Maps version of satellite rather than Google Earth version. This is likely due to Google Earth being phased out of MY18 and below (not sure, putting 2 and 2 together.
My experience is Satellite view eventually becomes blurry in new areas I drive. At first I was using my phone as a hotspot, then inserted a SIM card to test. Using SIM card I found that after a Navigation and Online Database factory reset the Online Settings Data Usage counter was increasing but after turning off my car and later restarting, the Data Usage just wouldn't increase anymore. Obviously Satellite view isn't restarting the data connection after a car restart, hence blurry images not picking up new data.

So, I tried to do an "Online Search" and this worked, kicking off the data connection.... from thereon, Satellite recognises the data connection and commences using it again. Blurry images are now pristine again.

Sounds like a bug to me.... anyone know how to "force" a data connection on car restart without having to do an "Online Search"?

(FYI, in Australia we do not have Audi Connect but receive Google Earth included at no additional charge, and also means no app that may kick off a data connection or something that may be happening in overseas models)
