Default mirror replaced by ex-dealer - getting side-assist warning

Hi,
I replaced the mirror through my insurance for my Q5 that got the mirror-housing damaged. Now I am getting a warning that the 'side-assist' is not recognized when I called the repair shop, they asked me to contact dealer and request for it to be reprogrammed, to add the newly installed.
I am posting here to get help verifying the statement and also would like to know approx. how much it would cost?

Note: I went to the repair-shop as the dealer suggested to replace the howuing, mirror and sensors (complete package - $3500 ) which I thought was wasteful and I got it done outside for $1052 just for the parts that got damaged.
