Default Parrot CK3000 Evolution with a Symphony II BOSE

I purchased a Parrot CK3000 Evolution hands free kit and have dicovered that my 2002 Audi Bose Symphony II head unit does not use the standard ISO connector for the front speakers. It looks like the BOSE speakers are all connected via the uppermost connector on the head unit. Is there an adapter to make the CK3000 Evo compatible with the Bose unit? Else, is there a way I can reconfigure some connections to resolve this issue?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I am cross-posting this very same message in the Audio Forum (sorry about the duplication).

Default No. But it's easier to just buy the harness from the dealer for the nav/phone connection...

on the back of the radio. All you need to do is cut one pair of speaker wires from the kit (most use orange and red) and connect it to the speaker + - on the back of the radio. And immediatly below those is the mute connection. Connect the yellow mute cable from the kit to that location. Here are the part's you'll need to do it with a clean install:

Parts ordered:
10-pin connector block, Audi part #357 035 447B
2 wire connectors, Audi part # 000 979 133 (one wire will give you two connectins when cut in half, so you'll need two)

The picture is the harness you need upside down. You just need the the posts circled in yellow. It's really easy if you do it this way. The head unit will manage sound through the speakers. I just wrappd up the harness ends with a rubber band and used just those three wires and suck it under the radio.

Actually, I didn't use any of the wiring harnesses because the power harness isn't plug and play either. You're going to have to cut the 12v switched 12v and ground cables and connect them somewhere under the dash and btw the fuse box. I ended up using one of the posts with the thick red cables for my constant 12v and taping a wire to the fuse slot for the fuel pump for switched 12v. For ground, there's a post next to the hood release with thick brown wire attached to it you can use. I just cut the harness part off.

So, it's not exactly plug and play but it's not that bad an install. Most challenging part for me was wiring the mic.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such a thorough explanation.

In essence, as I have already completed all my CK3000 installation (including the lead to the 12V ignition by means of a fuse tap, the mute lead to the pin you indicated in your diagram, etc.) you are suggesting that I should just splice the wires for, say, the left speaker from the CK3000 harness into the Tel + and Tel - and that should pump sound from the CK3000 to said speaker?

Default Easy installation with these adaptors without cutting wires

I have a Parrot evolution in my BMW Z4 with this connector and works perfect.

http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Car_kit_installation_leads/audi.htm</a

Yup. That's exactly how I did mine. You just need a signal input.

Default I don't think this will work with our steering wheels. The only ones I've seen like that are B7's

I have radio controls in my steering wheel but they're all dedicated. Works great with my PhatBox though.

Thank you. I'll try it during the weekend and will let you know if it worked.

Default You'll be happy. I just finished mine on Monday. Love it. Also installed an Ericsson HCB300

in my wifes Passat. She loves it too. We both got rid of hard wired kits and it's great to not have to even pull out the phone. And we can use each other's kits when we swap cars. You'll love it. Drop me a line if you need any help.

However, you'll prob have to order and wait for harness from Audi.

Default I am afraid it didn't work...

I did as you indicated, but I am sorry to say that it didn't work: the radio mutes and display PHONE, but no sound comes out of the speakers - just like before. When the radio is off I can tell that communication with the speakers is attempted as I hear a slight hiss when the bluetooth kit comes in, but still no sound is heard.

I even tried to invert the red and orange wires as suggested by Parrot ("on certain units it may be necessary to switch the red and ornge wires etc.", but the result was still the same.

Do you by any chance have other suggestions?

Thanks,

Paul
