programming errors on nav DVDs released after 12/07
 

had strange problem with my nav DVD - upgraded to new DVD without problem in 12/07 - on trying to put specific addresses for specific cities, noticed that street menu would not highlight despite having a well known city. sporadic - but reproducible for the city in question.
Brought to NAV tac - they are unsympathetic since they supply raw data to Audi and Audi composes the DVDs with the programming by Audi,.
Brought to dealer - checked out NAV system - no problem. Compared with other DVDs on new models - same problem not only in my car but in the new ones also. Turns out that the programming of the disc tagged streets to the COUNTY and not the city for some cities. Audi error. not yet reported according to dealer or audi roadside assistance (which is the place to report this problem in the US).
There is a new release as of end of May 08. Do not know if these DVDs will have the same error problem. Dealer to check when he gets a after 6/1 Audi .
