Question on swapping out Symphony II and Factory Nav. for RNS-E...
I currently have the stock/factory nav. + Symphony II deck. If I were to buy the RNS-E, does it make installation more difficult or doesn't matter? Also, what to do w/ the older version of nav.? Do people even buy them or not? And if so, won't they need the factory nav. buttons located near the handbrake?
If anyone has input, that'd be great. Thanks.

You should disconnect the power plug of the old navi
Otherwise both devices will respond on the same address and make diagnostics more difficult. It's a direct swap if you currently have the Symphony II head unit. If you want to use the roof mounted GPS antenna you will need an extension cable. The old navi controls will not work anymore with the RNS-E but removing them may be more work than leaving them in place.
I would probably leave the whole BNS navi installed but disconnected and just install the new RNS-E. This way you can simply revert back to factory setup when you sell the car without the RNS-E.
