Default Symphony I, car came with the phone package. Any way to get my SDA w/ BT connected?

My car has a symphony I head unit and came with the phone package, but no phone. So I have the phone buttons built in to the steering wheel, and I think that means there is already a mic?

I'm wondering what would be required to get my phone working with the steering-wheel buttons.

Can the OEM BT module work with a symphony I or just the RNS-E?

Are there any alternative routs to the OEM blue tooth? Any hardwire methods?

Anyone know if my SDA will work with the OEM BT module? Will the contacts show up on the DIS?

Sorry for all the questions. TIA

Default Some quick answers....

options range in price/OEM functionality from least to most expensive....

Keep Symphony I:
- add an aftermarket BT kit (easy to hook up; see the AW tech section)
- no control from

Add Symphony II:
- add oem BT module and upgraded steering wheel module ($200)
- your steering wheel buttons will work for voice activated dialing etc.

Add RNSE
- same as above...plus you can see phone info in RNSE screen (read navplus.us for more info).

I guess it depends on how critical the oem integration (steering wheel and cluster) is to you...and how deep your wallet is.

Good luck!

Default Thank you.

I have read a bit more, only to confirm what you say... I was hoping there was a cheap/easy way to put that phone button to use; but I might have to just wait, save up some cash and do it right with RNS-E.

I really don't neeeeed any of it, just cool gadgets, and RNS-E leads the pack of cool gadgets - Thanks again -

Default Re: Thank you.

I agree as I have been doing some research on the same subject. There does not seem to be a straight forward and easy way to integrate with bluetooth for SymphonyI or II.
If you find anything please post.

Thanks

Default with the Symphony II, you need the MFSW....then OEM BT can be added..

..you don't always need the RNSE to have OEM BT....but it is certainly higher up on the "coolness" scale.

Default I am thinking about getting the Parrot CK3200 BT Kit for my RNS-D, do you know if that will

work with it, also is there a way to find out if my car has the Mic already built-in, I have a 2001.5 Audi S4 originally came with the Bose Symphony I but changed it to a RNS-D
