Default Threshold

I've changed my room plans again.....now have the drywall guy coming back again.....and will be putting corner bead on a bunch of corners including the foyer to front hallway opening.

Here's my $20 new threshold, went over to Hines Lumber, found a 1x12x48" for $20 in the 25% off pile. Great prices over there for lumber.

My front foyer is an old enclosed porch, last year I did a face lift on it, still had the old front door installed, I have recently removed it. Now I'm going to drywall all the way around the corners instead of wood trim.

Here it was last year after I finished it:

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/house/DSC04063.JPG">

Then I gutted the front hallway of all the plaster (what a huge job that was) and had John Worthman insulate and drywall it. I also had the floors redone. When doing that, I had to pull the trim that went over the threshold trimming out the edge of the hallway flooring.

How was I going to trim it out now with no door? Didn't really know. And the foyer is about 1 3/8" lower than the hallway because it's a porch.

So I pulled all the original door jam out this weekend, and with it came the threshold.....so I made a new one....noticed the angle on the trim cuts, 9 degrees. And that power finish nailer is a must! Best tool I ever bought......well.....I have a lot of those!

Default Valence

Got to it get it mostly complete by Thanksgiving, having dinner here.....my couch is being delivered Friday.

I'm going to have to valences over the 108" windows.....finished the first one, all I have to do is mount it.

It's 108" x 18 1/4", used two 10' 1x12 pine boards biscuit joined together, then added the end pieces.

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/house/sm_DSC06948.JPG">

For the front of the house, I will have one go the entire 150" across the whole room, here it is being glued up:

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/house/sm_DSC06951.JPG">

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/house/sm_DSC06954.JPG">

I then added the last piece to it the next day.

Then I had to figure out how to mount it to the ceiling, added 2x4's to the ceiling and 2x4's to the valence.

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/house/sm_DSC06970.JPG">

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/house/sm_DSC06961.JPG">

Got some 1" foam, and some leather like material to cover it.

Using my new trusty Craftsman stapler, I covered the two layers in about an hour.

First you must have some WINE!

Test fitting it, it's perfect!!!

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/house/sm_DSC07038.JPG">

And here's the 150" one that I have to cover and hang next.....but the drywall guy is coming back one more time, should be done by the end of the weekend.

Also bought some material for curtains today, going to do custom curtains too.....it's gonna be very, very nice!!!!

Default Radiator Cover/Window Sill

All I can say is WOW!!! It is so nice....the pictures don't do it justice. Not enough light to take pics without a flash.....you don't see the radiator really, it's the flash that is on in some of the pictures.

Default Plasma

Last night was watching it in HD (Jay Leno) and all I can say in HD, it's incredible. With just regular TV on, it's really not as good of a picture as my 27" tube due to resolution.

It just wasn't made to run on low resolution, but on HD, OMG! and the wide shots you get, it's awesome.

The yellow then went out, everything was PINK! Fiddled with the cables this morning, all is fixed, need to get a HDMI to HDMI cable to go from Comcast box to media box.

Installed all the baseboard trim last night, cut it on Monday/Tuesday, sanded it on Wednesday and put three coats of clear on it yesterday....my son helped me install it last night. Probably have 15 hours into the trim.

This is an old retarded coffee table that I painted and put a piece of MDF covered in suede on top of it.....looks great! Going to make a shelf under the TV and a box in the back to hide the cables.....it will hold the three boxes.

I will make the entertainment center at a later date.

So I got the plasma....love it, but the Comcast HD cables are absolutely retarded. I modified an old $5 garage sale coffee table for my temporary stand....

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/house/sm_DSC07297.JPG">

So I decided to build a shelf for it....got a $7 piece of MDF, and maple stock from my living room project....and made a shelf.

Also made a little cable hider out of MDF. Painted them and installed it....looks outstanding!

The original coffee table, it must of came with a glass top, but I made a MDF top with material stapled to it....painted it.

MDF top and piece of maple cut and dado'd out.
