This is good, but how does this defeat the flaming threads? Email can be disabled and
The extra login will keep the people out who don't want to take the time create an account, but is this really going to change things?

The fact that email can be disabled only restricts what can be seen by the viewer.
AudiWorld et al, will know who the offending party is and be able to point their howitzers at them.

We keep the email address and we log the IP address
We don't want to go the route that other forums have done by exposing the IP addresses, but we can if people don't behave.
The administrators see it on every post. Rest assured, we know who you are, but we value other people's privacy as much as we value ours.
