Default "opening up" lower valence side inlets? easily possible? worthwhile?

i would think the increase in airflow would be beneficial to the intercoolers... not to mention LOOK better... nothing is worse than blocked-off mesh. seems pointless. my friend did this on his GTI with a dremel.

here is a pic for reference... i am referring to the black behind the lower left mesh on this removed bumper.

Default It's there to channel air...>

From a point of greater pressure. Remove it (although seemingly logical) may result in LESS air through the intercooler...

All that ducting is there for a reason..

so you're saying, aftermarket lowers are decreasing functionality and hindering performance? ;-)

Default Possibly, but only fractionally...

Cause the lip shape is different too. If you study the aerodynamics of the front of a car, Higher pressure areas tend to be toward the center, which is why the ducting routes air from the center, out..The engineers didn't put all that plastic in there for no reason...:-)

There was a good writeup on autospeed some time ago on this with lots of test data..

If you should decide to remove them you won't need the dremel...they clip onto the mesh
