0W-40 oil leak (longish)
Background: I'm one of those low-mileage drivers. My TT has 12k miles on it, no mods (other than wheels), and is stored in the garage every winter for 5-6 months (I'm also in the camp that believes you don't touch the car for the winter, rather than the start-it-every-week camp). I bring Mobil-1 0W-40 with me to every scheduled oil change (yearly in my case), and have since the initial 5k service.
This past spring, I noticed a small oil spot on the floor of the garage, probably about the area of a dollar bill. I noticed a few drops again later in the summer after only about a week. So, with warranty ending soon, I mentioned it at my 4yr (40k) service, and here's what they did, with opcodes and part numbers:
17509999 - Releasled oil pan
D-176-404-A2 Sealant
17501913 - Remove and install oil pan
15849999 - Replace camshaft tensioner gaskets
058-198-025-A Gasket set
058-198-217 Gasket set
15052013 - Remove and install both camshafts
This is in addition to the regular 40k stuff, and brake fluid change.
Is this a result of using the 0W-40 oil instead of 5W-40 like most other oils on Audi's list (see: Audi Approved Oil List)? I'm thinking I don't want to pay for something like this myself, so maybe switching to one of the 5W-40 oils is the way to go. Anyone else using 0W-40 have a similar experience?

highly unlikely....more than likely NOT driving it, would affect it more..IMO>>>
dried seals and things like that...remember, oil helps to lubricate lots of stuff, not just the motor..
