Is the 1.8 Tip TTR a red-headed stepchild here?
I've been lurking and searching and no one talks about it. Is it Audi's dirty little secret or what? The wife and I will probably be leasing one next month after passing on the 2.5 Z4. Though we both loved the DSG 3.2 test drive, we just can't swing the extra $$$. She can't drive stick and she's the primary driver so the 225's out. It's a "for fun" car, no track or rallies but it will be a year-round daily driver, too.
Anyone out there in AudiWorld admit to owning/leasing one. I want to know if there's anything to watch out for.

In the survey I did a couple weeks ago, only like 7 people owned 180 roadsters...
since they don't make 225's in automatic, I'm assuming it's a 1.8T 180bhp instead of a 1.8T 225bhp, right? I can't remember, did they make 180 quattro automatics? or 180 manual FWDs? (I don't know too much about the 180's since I own a 225).
See map for number of 180 roadsters...

it's scaled down a bit, and the difference in color between a 180 coupe and 180 roadster is a bit tough to see... but I believe 13 of the blue dots were 180 coupes if that helps).

Absolutely not! Many of the people who post here are Mod junkies, but
you are are certainly not excluded! This forum is the best that I have discovered. The people are very helpful, many of the topics are lighthearted fun. We all need to remember that the quickest cars in the world run automatics, so they are certainly not looked down upon. Most of the people who post are the owners of 2000 to 2003 models, I guess the people with the newer models are still giddy from the ownership experience and don't have time for all of this!
Post your experiences and questions here, and I think you will be very satisfied.
Enjoy the car

Modded manual here, but go ahead - get it>>>
You'll no doubt love the car; half the fun with a Roadster come from the many top down experiences anyway. A stock 180 certainly isn't a slug, even with Tip, I gather. Doesn't preclude you from doing some basic bolt on mods either, that will add to the fun and till stay within the Tip's limitations...
