Sell more TTs, people in Europe, cheaper, probably better gas mileage.
It's been available in Germany for a year or more. The UK is the hottest market for TTs, so they will probably sell to many that can't afford a 225.

There's a fine balance between higher sales volume (more profit through more units) and loyal, passionate buyers (lower volumes, better margins from people more willing to pay a premium). The risk is that you dilute the brand's equity and nobody will pay for your premium technology. I'd argue that this is a very dangerous play for Audi.
The mileage issue is a good one, too...
