Default 15k Service?

I have seen folks here mention a 15k service. Is this an included service (I have 2001 TT)? I thought that beginning at 10k miles that there was only included service every 10,000 miles, not 5,000 miles. Am I wrong?

15K is not included. It's 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50.

Default The answer is:

2000 year TT's get service every 5k.
2001 and beyond TT's get service every 10k.

Some folks are taking it upon themselves to at least get their oil changed in the 'off' interval and others are happy to wait.

To me, it seems odd that the same engine and components need differing maintenance schedules simply based upon what year they were produced. As a 2000 owners, I am glad that I am on the 5k interval program.

Default This is why I was upset to get a 2003 maintenance manual with a 2002 car - worried there are

differences in the two.

Default Official Audi Service Circular sez:

I printed it out from the Audi website: All Model Maintenance Schedule, document # AMS-01-01 (1/29/2001). Schedule service intervals for 2001 TT's is 5K, 10K, then every 10k after that up to 100K, then 105K, then 120K.

My local Audi service guy did recommend that you still do an oil change every 5K on the TT.

Default The only difference would be the amount of bugs in a first run car.

The more and more TTs that are made the less problems they have. They don't need to schedual maintenance as often.

Or the factory realized how much money they were losing with all the TTs in the shop and decided to switch to the 10k plan.

Default Re: I use Redline synthetic oil. Redline claims 10K to 18K change interval.

Not sure if I can wait that long. Old habits are hard to break.
