Default 2000 tt quattro6 speed manual turbo

Considering purchasing a 2000 tt quattro
66k miles
on test drive water pump blew engine over heated flat-decked to shop - should the timing belt have been replaced at same time?
After water pump repairs took it for a couple day test drive, no heat, heater core is blocked
 heated seats not working
no service records - original belt
cluster gauges occasionally act weirdly - temp gauge swings wildly
Seller asking $6k
body is good
Repurchase shop examination doesn't report any significant issues
Along with the timing belt what should I look at replacing immediately if I were to purchase?

Lyle, welcome to the forum. If you have to invest another $US3000 to sort this car, how will you feel about the purchase?

Hi Uberwgn,
That is the figure -$3k- I was assuming. Heater core, timing belt, tensioner etc.
I am wondering about drive train, suspension, exhaust, etc issues that may jump up and bite me and any other annecdotal accounts of others who have owned a lower milage, older TT.
There are newer TTs going for $10k+ but with over 100k miles. Is it better to purchaser a newer higher milage model or an older lower milage midel?

Read this FAQ https://forums.fourtitude.com/showth...44-Audi-TT-FAQ
As discussed in the FAQ, also look at glove box latch ($1000), instrument cluster, and squeaking front bushings.
