2004 225 Papaya - Need mod suggestions
I've had the 04 for 2 days now...boy, it gets a lot of attention. A whole lot more than my silver 2k 180Q did.
I can't wait to do some mods!!! Here is my list. Any suggestions on which brands to get would be appreciated!
Caracter Kit w/o spoiler
3.2 spoiler
JE tail light covers
air intake (not sure which one)
chip (?)
exhaust (?)
short throw shifter
silver gauges
turbo gauge (not the pod that takes up an air vent) Althought I like the retrofit, I feel it kills the symetry of the interior.
Are there any parts I need that I'm leaving out?
What should my HP be after air/exhaust/chip upgrade?
How much of a noticable difference does this level of upgrade make?
Thanks a bunch!!!
Jon

I hope you aren't expecting--->
this car to feel like a chipped/modded 225. Don't know why you'd want a turbo gauge.....no boost! 2nd, even if anybody has a chip available, you'll only likely see a max gain of approx 10-12hp. Cars with no forced induction do not benefit much from chip upgrades unless they are HIGHLY internally modded (cams, heads, etc etc).
With an airbox, catback, and chip (assuming one finally comes available for this DSG setup), you might see 20hp increase, and that will leave you at a disadvantage to well-modded chipped 225. But you'll enjoy the smoothness of the VR6.
