225Q Roadster in Green/Green/Green?
I have the chance to order a May allocation, late July delivery, 225Q Roadster in Desert Green exterior, Green roof, and Desert Grass Green interior. The carpets are Ebony.
I had read a story last year about this combo, and the author said it was very striking.
Has anyone seen these colors, other than the exterior?
Pics?
My dealer wants a *huge* non-refundable deposit, because these are "non-standard" colors, whatever that means. It's a small dealer also, so they would be stuck with the car, if I backed out.
I am very tempted, but I have not seen how this will look, and my imagination is running wild, not to mention my excitement.
I need to get an answer into the dealer right away, or the allocation may dry up.
Thoughts?

NEVER give a dealer a NON-refundable deposit...
Your best bet is to call around and see where you would be on the waiting list. While the color combo sounds great, there is NO reason the dealer should have a non-refundable policy. Every dealer I've seen has a REFUNDABLE deposit policy. Stay away from ANY dealer with a non-refundable deposit.

There are reputable dealers doing that but there is a fix
Just go ahead and have them put in writing a reasonable delivery date for the vehicle. If you don't get the vehicle by that time, the purchase agreement should indicate that the deposit is refundable. The purchase agreement is a legal instrument and so if someone with an extra $5K, for example, walks in the door, the dealer can't sell it for the extra bucks. He has a binding contract with you.
But, if what you seek is the fact that you order a vehicle a certain way and when it comes in, just don't care for the order combination, your deposit should be returned contingent on their sale to someone else. Either way, you won't lose your money...it will just be tied up.
