Default 225QR in Port Houston - Now what?? (long)

Roadster arrived in port last Friday. Confirmed by dealer.
Dealer has the car listed on her inventory, but can't tell me when it will get to her.
She claims she calls the port daily, as she has 10 other Audis in port, sold, waiting for delivery. She said the next update from the port will say the cars are released to transport. She really wanted to close the books on these cars this month/quarter, but that doesn't look like it will happen today.
I've been going through dreams and imagined visions of the beautiful Desert Green roadster, sitting in my garage, or on the driveway, as I admire its curves and stylish form, and then racing down the highway and side roads, admiring the head-turns and "thumbs up" and glowing comments that so many of you have posted here.
Then, poof, it vanishes, as I think, 'No, it's never gonna get here, it's gonna be another week, month, 2 months...'
I can't believe it.
From April, when I first placed the order with this dealer, after a goof-up by my original dealer from a Jan. deposit, I get more anxious as the weeks go by. This last week has been the worst!
Of course, I have told every one that I am buying/getting this wonderful car, and now I'm getting questioning looks from this august group, when I have to say, 'No, it's not here yet.'
I sincerely thought I would be able to roll into our annual family picnic next week, in my stunning roadster, and be able to take in all the admiring approvals, as I showed off this beauty to my extended family.
I've got the pictures, reading the postings here for the past 4-5 months, the postings of the mods., the detailed listings of the problems, the listings of the add-ons. I've got 2 roadster models, 2 "Canned Heat" coupes, the bra, the car cover, and will probably order the Mintex brake pads right away. (I think the green pads would look interesting next to the Desert Green body color.) I've got the digital still and video camera ready to go. I didn't order the Bose upgrade, so I'm anxiously waiting looking into re-doing the amp and speakers. I'm planning to add the cable from my StarTac into the pre-wiring for the phone, and post this mod. for the group. I've got the code ready for the dealer to program the remote, I've got my checklist ready, the VIN number, the insurance guy plugged into my cell phone to turn on the insurance, and to top it off, I'm having to drive a '92 Taurus 'Rent-a-Wreck' until the TT comes in!
Am I nuts or what? I have absolutely never been this way about a car before.
I can't wait to post my 'Fist Impression drive'. I have my brother lined up to drive me the 85 miles to the dealer, in his mod'ed '92 Miata. We plan to swap cars back and forth on the drive back, for that brotherly 'comparison' drive. Even he is getting excited!
I can't take looking at anyone's car pics anymore, sorry.
I'm hoping that I have the new rev. diverter valve, and that all the electronic bugs are gone. I'm looking forward to years of trouble-free grin producing driving, but I JUST CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE!!

Default I'm in pretty much the same situation...

I keep getting told it should be here any day now, but it just keeps getting pushed back a little bit at a time. I was originally told June 1 would probably be the date, and then that got puched back another week...Then another 2 weeks...Then a few more days...Then you get the picture. Now I'm looking at July 7th. I'm glad I didn't sell my current car a couple of weeks ago when it sounded like I would definitely be getting my TT. Heh. The worst part is all my friends saying "I don't think there is a car....You're just doing this for attention."

Default Same here.

I'm sure glad I'm not the only one that feels like that. Been checking on all the mods, ordering lojack, lining up the first 6 CDs to put in, ordered Zaino, play with the canned heat, already financed the car, and planned a vacation around this damn car. The worst is my friends and girlfriend that give me crap about that the dealer sold the car to someone else over msrp to get the extra cash. At this point, I don't feel bad about calling the dealer everyday. I NEED THIS CAR!

Default If I had a nickel...

...For every time someone said "I bet they sold it to someone else for more than what you were giving" then I would have umm...About a dollar. And then I could rub that dollar in their faces when my TT finally shows up. Yeah...I'd have a TT AND a dollar. That would rock.

Just picked mine up. Took 10 days to get from San D. to Santa Barbara.

Looks good, drives good. Life IS good.

Off to drive the car...

Default Re. Substitute Cell Phones

Jeff mentioned: "I'm planning to add the cable from my StarTac into the pre-wiring for the phone, and post this mod. for the group." Has anyone done this? I am in the deposit-down-await "dealer allotment" pre-order category, and am trying to decide whether to get the phone. I would rather be able to plug my Viper (a smaller Motorola Startac) into the car, when I'm in the car, and take it with me in my pocket when out, while still being able to get the benefit of the car's antenna etc. I have seen mentioned in other postings that the manual, which I've never seen, says something bad about cell phones and the car's computers. Would appreciate any advice. Also, have looked through forum and can't find anywhere any decent pictures of the aviator grey interior. Does anyone know where to find any? Thanks, KJ rabjunk@aol.com
rabjunk
