Default AC compressor replaced, new problem arose.

I replaced the ac compressor and top ac hose this past friday. Was pretty much a 4 hour job and really not hard at all and my ac is working great now.
But now it seems that my alternator is acting up, the check battery is on and car is stalling and all the gizmos on the dashboard are lighting up or not at all. Got new battery from napa, old battery was only 7 months old. After installing new battery the battery light is still on, checked for voltage while car is running and it reads at 12 volts, I think it should read at least 13 volts.

Can someone tell me what seems to be wrong. I did have to recharge my old battery since I had car in my garage for about 3 or 4 weeks because no A/C. Is there a fuse for the alternator that maybe got toasted when charging?

Default If your voltage, while running is..>

12V, your alternator is not putting out. Voltage at the battery with a properly functioning alternator should be between 13.5-14 volts.
