Default Adapting the TT Xenon parts in a lowly, old A4.

As you all may know, along with the TT I had, we also have a '96 A4.
We have keep this thing going over the years, and it's been a workhorse.
My wife drives it the most, and the interior has suffered from a not-so-tidy driver and passenger, as our daughter grew from 2 to now 12.

My wife always complained about not being able to see at night, and loved driving the TT with it's Xenons.
The A6 for her is great too.
Over the years, I have accumulated about 3 headlights worth of parts.
I finally adapted these parts to the standard non-Xenon A4 headlights.

The A4 headlight is smaller than the TT one, and getting at the back is pretty easy.
Here is the OEM config. I'm gonna modify the bulb and connector on the left here.

It's pretty easy to remove the halogen, pop in the Xenon bulb, and re-configure the wire to hold the bulb in place.

The actual Xenon bulb fits very well into the halogen back, and is securely held in place.

The ignitor mounts inside the removable back, and I simply secured it with cable ties.
the power wires, yellow and brown, got male crimp-on connectors on them, and simply plug into the OEM halogen socket. A few wraps of electrical tape help insulate them.

The cap went on the back, and I mounted the power supply boxes easily near the actual headlight. The A4 engine compartment actually has some room to work in. No need to modify any other electrical parts, and the OEM xenons draw 50W each, and each Xenon power supply is rated at 35W.
An easy mod, and a much better night time driving experience.

Mucho Thanks to Marty that got me the other OEM HID.

Yea, they are not as strong in the A4, 'cuz of no focused projectors, but they are a big help.

Default Our B5 A4 had the worst stock lights of any car I owned - I went with Euro projector housings and

and higher wattage halogens - made a big difference. Xenons would have been great!
