Air bag light on now too
This one is reset how? I called Audi and asked about the airbag recall and if mine was done, surprisingly it never required the air bag recall according to them

I will have to clean the EGR valve with rubbing alcohol and "Q tips" soon and replace a rubber hose too, I will have to disconnect the battery cables again so that I do not blow a fuse working with the electrical side of the EGR part. A video offered that you remove the NEG post then the Pos post the hold the two wire cable terminals together for 20 minutes and the Air Bag light resets on its own. It should take me longer to clean the EGR than 20 minutes so a possible win win there. Report to follow

What does the VAGCOM say? I had a similar issue on mine where the airbag module reported a memory fault or something similar. Turns out the airbag module has a tendency to die when exposed to a low voltage for a prolonged period of time, so now I always keep the car on a battery tender when I won't be driving it for some time.

The most useful tool you can buy for a VW/Audi car: https://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/ It can scan and give you codes for nearly every module in the car (including the airbag module, in this case).

Our airbag modules get troublesome with age. Typical symptom is a fault occurring when powering up at low temps. Mine first did it years ago when it was about 15 degrees one morning. Now it will do it if ambient temp is in the thirties or lower ( first start of the day). I use an eBay acquired reset device to correct it when it happens. Amazingly it works well.
