Aiwa CD Changer cable compatability wity Audi Cd Changer cable?

Does the Audi CD Changer Cable work when connected directly to the Aiwa model CDC(F)M 65 six disc CD Changer and can the cable that comes with the Aiwa work whrn connected to the Audi cable as an extention

doubt it.

Re: doubt it.

They both have round 13 pins. Is there a way to test?
Thanks Jeff, I have seen some threads ref an adapter for mp3 players etc. Is there a simple adapter just for the end of the 13 pin cable to use with the Aiwa 6 disc CD changer.

Without knowing what Aiwa uses on it's 13-pin DIN there is no way to match it to Audi

I have the Auid 13-pin info.
if you can find the Aiwa 13-pin info, *maybe* it will work, but you must understand, the *protocols* are entirely different.

By that I mean the way the units *talk* to one another.
The Audi/Panasonic system is proprietrsay, and I suspect so is the Aiwa

I have seen some threads that state that Sony makes Aiwa or Aiwa is a subdivision of Sony. Does anyone know if the Sony cd changer is plug and play with Audi. Is there a way to test for power and ground on the Aiwa cable so if it is connected, atleast one could know the polarity is correct to avoid "blowing" the concert radio.

You are still missing the most basic point here. Even if power, gnd, were established...

you have no idea if the *protocol* signals will match or be compatible. The ability for the changer to *talk* to the H/u is waht I am refrring to.

it's not simply power, gnd, left and right audio.

I understand the protocol differences, like speaking different languages. Like Italians, Spaniards and Portugese can understand each other most of the time, perhaps since there are companies using others info and protocols, my questions are concerning the issue; if Sony makes Aiwa like Panasonic has Audi, VW or Jvc compatibles. Just maybe, if Sony works with the Audi cable then Aiwa will work. I guess the bottom line comes to whether I will just connect the Aiwa to the Audi cable. I ask about ground and power wires to have a reasonable chance of not connecting the polarities in an oposite manner and thus frying the system. If anyone can point to a site of electronics compatabilities, it would be helpful. Thanks.

I ran a google search and found a site that can show electronics compatibility http://www.connects2.com It does show a sony unit that will work with TT but the Aiwa did not come up.
